mxi-3 work with pci bridge

I plan to use a MXI-3 in a cPCI chassis that also has a pci-pci bridge to a secondary backplane. Will I be able to access boards on the secondary backplane with the MXI-3?

From the phrase above it seems you have a CompactPCI chassis that has an internal PCI-to-PCI bridge. It seems you want to use a MXI-3 extender to control your CompactPCI chassis from a PC.

If this is the case, you should not run into any issues. National Instruments manufactures a PXI 18-slot chassis that has two PCI-to-PCI bridges. We have controlled this chassis using a MXI-3 extender with no problem.

The MXI-3 bridge acts like a transparent PCI-to-PCI bridge under any Windows OS and it is compliant with the latest CompactPCI specification (PICMG 2.0 Rev. 3.2).

Hope this helps,
