nonbuffered operation with pxi 4472 and 6713

I succeeded in one channel PID control with RT labview. But it is too slow. I'm concerned that the pxi 4472 board is not for real-time control but only condition monitoring. I tried many configurations but the board didn't work with exactly real time operation. Exactly real time operation means single point acquisition (immediate, non-buffered operation). That is, the software reads one value from an input channel and immediately returns the value. In addition, all applications of 4472 in catalog are realted to monitoring not control. Also, PXI 6713 is the same case. I think if we want real time we shoud buy RT series DAQ like 6040 or 6030 of 7030 family. Is it right?

Hi,
The NI-4472 DSA was designed for high-accuracy frequency measurements for data acquisition purposes and can only be used with buffered acquisition. Hence, you can not use the board to hardware time your loops to achieve high control loop speeds. To realize the PID benchmark speeds you will need an E series daq board such as the PXI-6070E. These boards allow for non-buffered, continuos acquisition, which is need to synchronize your software loops with the desired scan rate i.e. control loop rate.
