pxi 1031 error when using PXI 4132

Hello,

I'm trying to use my old PXI-1031 as chassis for my PXI- 4132 SMU but i have problem on +12v supply from chassis.

Is PXI-4132 compatible with PXI- 1031? Additional to that I'm using PXI- 8196 controller and PXI- 7811R I/O.

I have attached the error message for reference.

Thanks!

Hello edakoto,

Theere should not be any incompatibility between the 1031 and the PXI 4132.  If you've tried resetting the device and the 4132 works in another chassis, your chassis may be damaged.  Do other modules work without a problem?  Specifically, can you use the chassis with another SMU?

Hello Sir Patrick,

Yes the chassis works fine with other modules. I am using PXI8196 controller, PXI 7811R and PXI 4130 on the same chassis.

My PXI1031 chassis is an old version.

Can MAX pin point which +12v fuse is busted? as stated on the error message.

Hello edakoto,

Definitely one thing to try is to put the module in another slot to make sure this problem is not specific to a certain slot.

MAX cannot specifically locate which fuse is busted.  There is a 12V fuse onboard the PXI 4132, but unfortunately it is not easily user-accessible. It would be beneficial to try the 4132 in another chassis if possible to check if that fuse is the problem.
