When you say PXI controller, are you referring to one of the many embedded controllers available on the market (such as NI's embedded PXI controllers), or do you mean a chip the controls PXI backplane communication? As far as the latter goes, I am not aware of a chip on the market that specifically controls a PXI backplane, but the communication bus between the cards is compact PCI. PXI adds additional timing and triggering capabilities to that standard to form the PXI backplane. If you need more information about the specs for the PXI bus, you can refer to the PXISA standards webpage for the complete PXI spec or to this tutorial on our website for a brief overview of the spec.
