When you say PXI controller, are you referring to one of the many embedded controllers available on the market (such as NI's embedded PXI controllers), or do you mean a chip the controls PXI backplane communication? As far as the latter goes, I am not aware of a chip on the market that specifically controls a PXI backplane, but the communication bus between the cards is compact PCI. PXI adds additional timing and triggering capabilities to that standard to form the PXI backplane.
