Did you mean:

pxisys.ini for NI-1042

I installed MXI-3 1.15 for Windows. The directory C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MXI3\pxisys\ does not have an INI file for the NI-1042. Where can I find it?

Hi,

You can download your file from here....

http://www.ni.com/support/vxi/vxi_perph.htm

select the pxisys.ini files option then the MXI-3 1042 option from the table.

Hope this helps,

Nick

Thanks for your response. However, for MXI-3 / NI-1042 the table points to:

ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/pxi/MXI-3/1.1.5/

I do not see an INI file in that FTP directory, only the MXI-3 installer (mxi3_115.zip), which does not contain the NI-1042 pxisys.ini file I need...

Hi,

I see what you mean. Do you have a ini file for a 1000 chassis? it should be the same as the 1042 ini file. maybe you could try copying the 1000 ini file to the windows directory and rename it pxisys_1042.ini as per the namimg convention detailed in the readme of mxi3_115.

hope this helps,

Nick

Thanks again for your reply. I looked at the NI-1000 INI file, and the PXI numbers seems to match with the chassis slot numbers, so I used that.

After re-identifying the chassis as a NI-1042 in MAX, the PXI devices showed up nicely in the chassis slot view at the correct slots.

Thanks again!

Gwendolyn.
