scxi communication with DAQmx

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello CPalha,

This seems a bit weird...

Based on your MAX Report (see attachment) your SCXI-1600 is not connected to your PC.

Can you check if the SCXI-1000 is powered on? (do you see any LEDs burning)

Can you check if the USB-cable is connected?

Do you see anything being recognized in the Device Manager of Windows?

Hi Thicop and every people

I have two SCXI now with the same problem, it seems some configuration error in computers.

Now other computers that worked with this hardware, now gives the same error.

Do You think there is some dll files that must be cleaned?

Thanks in advance

Hello CPalha,

Have the other computers changed their OS or reinstalled anything?
Or are they still in their original configuration?

I have seen this type of error before in this kind of situation:

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/C7E29D88A3D7581486257540006BDB18?OpenDocument

It could be that someone else has changed the Voltage setting without you knowing about it.

Can you try the steps explained on page 2-13 of the following User Manual:

http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/374423l.pdf

Please also let me know if the Indicator Light on your SCXI-1000 chassis is lit.

Hi Thicop

no, the other computers stills with same OS.

I agree that the error is related with power supply, but i checked everything and it is adjuested to our 220V, and the green led is on.

Today I download the 9.3 Daq-mx version compatible with this hardware.

I connect it to the pc without scxi-1520 and recognies the scxi-1600 and i make a test and it passed ok.

Then I insert one of the scxi-1520 it recognises weel then when I try to do a test on it gives the error related with power supply.

I try with other scxi-1520 (we have 4).

After that I disconect the usb cable, take of the scxi-1520 and clear the setup in Max, i connect again and it works good untill insert the scxi-1520 module.

Do you think can be the internal power supply for the boards? Can I check if it is ok? Do you know the pinout slots in the chassis? The green led power indicates only power from network, but it could do not have power for the boards like 5volst or 10 volts?

Thanks once again

Hello CPalha,

Are you removing and connecting the SCXI-1520 modules when the power is still on? (the SCXI-modules are not hot swappable, so this could damage both the modules and the chassis)

Or do you also turn off the power?

What are the results are with the other SCXI-1520 modules?

Hi Thicop

Of course I changed with it turned off.

Do you know if it has some way to check the power to the scxi-slots?

Hello cpalha,

A way to check what might be going wrong with your power supply is to check if your fuses are blown.

The way to check this is described on page 2-14 and 2-15 of the above mentioned User Manual (the pdf-link)

Hi Thicop

Seems You found the problem!

I check the fuses (2 green ones 2A, behind Fan) and one of them seems broken.

I will buy a newone and I will give a feedback.

Thanks a lot.
