Can't find nipxi5600u.dll and nidaq32.dll?

I have recently loaded LV 2010 and RFSA 2.3.2 onto a PC running Vista.  When I open a example VI or anything I have written that is working on anther PC with XP the VI reports it can't find the nipxi5600u.dll and the nidaq32.dll.  I have not been able to find either dll on the PC and on the working PCs they are simply in the system32 folder.  Any ideas?  Thanks

Scott,

I have a system here that we just installed RFSA 2.3.2 on that does have those files, so I am not sure what's going on.  Our system is running Windows 7 32 bit.  Are you running 32 bit Windows Vista, or 64 bit?  What version of NI-DAQmx you have installed on your system?

Thanks,

HI Eric,

Thanks for the response.  I am running 64 bit vista and actually I did not see the NI DAQmx software in MAX.  I attached the MAX report in case I am missing something.  Thanks

Scott,

Since you're on a 64 bit machine I believe that the files should be in the C:\Windows\System folder rather than the System32 folder.  If they aren't there, I've attached the files from my system, try copying them to your hard drive and see if you can you the functions in them for your application.

Thanks,

Hi,

I tried using the dll files, but keep getting the message when the nipxi5600u.dll is attempted to be used "A dyanmic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.

Hope you help,

     Thanks,  Gale

This is an old thread, but just to reiterate:

niRFSA driver exists for 64-bit OS and 32-bit OS. The niRFSA supports PXI5660 on 32-bit system only, and that's where the mentioned DLL is needed. If you're using PXI566x (x != 0), then mentioned DLLs are not needed.

Which hardware are you attempting to use, and on what OS? What version of niRFSA driver did you install?

hope this helps,

Hi,

I have a 64-bit OS running on Windows 7 with LabVIEW 2011 Service Pack 1.  Since receiving your post I loaded the dll's into C:Windows\System and ran my "Spectrum" program.  Curiously C:Windows\System was empty and all my programs seem to have been put in System32.

It seemed to get by the nipxi5600 problem, maybe, but then hung up wanting niSTCu.dll.

I tried searching on NI's website.  Can you help me get that?

Thanks,

    Gale

Gale,

that's the good place to get the driver from. Remember, there is no need ever to go inserting files in windows/system[32] folder or any other folder as those DLLs are not standalone, they come with dependencies and with registrations that can only be properly done when installed via installer.

Now if you can tell us what hardware do you use, we could reach a conclusion whether you can use it on win64 OS or not.

Hi,

I put them in a few places and finally past hanging up on that.  I put them in the Windows\System folder.  I might have had to point the pc to that location when it ran and said it could not find them.  But, I am having trouble with other things that are not being found......
