Hi

I would like to know, can i use the RFSG/RFSA to test bluetooth devices,  & WLAN,
if yes , what are the limitations.

Hi Rags,

I think this KB Does the NI PXI-5660 RF Signal Analyzer support Bluetooth measurements? should answer most of you questions on Bluetooth - the caveats would also aply to RFSG. Its going to be a very similar situation with the wireless networking standards, as far as our devices and the Modulation Toolkit would be able to demodulate the signal as long as it stayed within the bandwidth and frequency range of our devices.

Hope this helps, please post back if you have any additional questions.

Cheers,

Hi Rags,

You would need a NI 566x for acquisition, a NI 567x for generation, and the Modulation Toolkit. You would also need a PXI chassis and some form of controller, but you would not need additional third party software or hardware. In order to perform the tests, you would need to have an in depth understanding of the Bluetooth standard, and a good understanding of LabVIEW and RFSA/RFSG programming. It would require additional LabVIEW programming to build tests that are relevant to Bluetooth and the specific measurements you require.
One of our Alliance Members built a Bluetooth testing application. Also, if you are looking for a system customized for Bluetooth, AmFax PXI-Based Bluetooth Measurement Suite uses our hardware and has vi's made specifically for Bluetooth testing. There are several other Alliance Members that have custom solutions that work well with LabVIEW, and save on development time. You can search through the Alliance Members to find one that fits your needs.

Cheers,
