niRFSA Initialize ERR

Hi,

We had developed RF ATE using niRFSA (5600+5142). Recently, we upgrade Labview from 8.2 to 8.5, and the following error occurred:

error code: BFFA4005
niRFSA Initialize.viDigitizer resource name is invalid. The resource name can be invalid because you did not associate the resource name in MAX with the NI PXI-5600 or because you tried to use InitWithOptions with a DriverSetup string that included an invalid digitizer resource name.

How to fix this problem? The resource name is associated to the name in MAX.

Was the upgrade from LV 82 to 85 teh only upgrade? I assume that the error is happening in your VI when you run it in 85. Does it still work in 82?

Can you see the device working properly in MAX - does the self test, reset, and test panel work in MAX?

I guess what I'm getting at is, at what point do you see the breakage - what works and where does it stop working. Please start looking from MAX, over LV 82 (that used to work) and then try LV 85.

Let us know your findings!

In addition to Srdan's post, please make sure that you go into Measurement and Automation Explorer, right click on the 5600 that you are using and select Properties.  In this window you can select the digitizer that you are using with the 5600.  It will be whatever you have named the 5142 that you plan to use with the 5600 in Measurement and Automation Explorer.

Hope that helps to get rid of the error.

Got it.

Since we also upgrade the MAX, someone changed the name of 5142, but didn't conect the new name to 5600 in property.

Thank you,

Thanks Raajit - your comment from way back in 2008 solved my problem in 2011!
