Hi,
I am new to the LabView Real-Time and FPGA environment, currently am trying to install the NI-7833R board on a WinXP Core2 quad computer, the board will only be used on this computer (no host/target scenario). I guess my question is: is the Ardence RTX required for this board? I have already installed RIO, real-time module, and the FPGA module with no problems. Also if it is required, is the software offered with the LabView 8.5.1 DVD package, or do I have to buy that separately?
Thank you.

Hi,
no, if you intend using the board in the Windows Enviroment, than you don't need any realtime extensions. What you have already installed is fine.
Just install the board, start LV, open a new project and add another target to your system. If you see the FPGA board under the RIO targets, you're set.
