Auto start remote panel in windows xp to remote monitor cRIO VI?

Hi,

I have a Host VI deployed and set as startup in the cRIO target. The cRIO is in the hybrid vehicle to control the fuel cell system. There is a mini-computer with windows XP that connects to an in-dash LCD in the vehicle. So when I start the car the cRIO runs almost instantly, and the mini-computer starts up in about 1 minute and it needs to automatically connect to cRIO's IP, and remotely view the Host VI and display the status in the in-dash LCD.
I know I can connect to the specific VI using "Connect to Remote Panel". But how do I set the remote connection to be an auto startup in windows XP?

Hi Pho,

Well you said that your mini computer starts 1 minute after your cRIO.  I would say the easiest solution would be to make Internet Explorer boot at startup, and set the default webpage to be the remote front panel.  No programming what so ever.  The other option is to enable VI server, and then have the program running on the cRIO call a VI on the host which start the webpage via activeX.  Those are just 2 ideas I have.

When you said set the internet explorer's address to the remote front panel, what would be the IP, port address for that? My cRIO is at 10.10.0.16, i dont know which port though. and do I  have to specify the vi name?

ex: 10.10.0.16:xxxx/cRIO_test.VI   ? or something like that?

The Address would look like:

http:\\10.10.0.16\cRIO_test.html

I love this KB.  Try following it and the remote front panel should show up:
