Hello friend.
This problem could be from many things. Here I would try them first. If it solved your problem great, if not let me know.
1) Cable. Is it a good cable? If not, change. It the cable looks old, change. You would be amazed how simple it was. Some time we over look that.
2) Is the LabVIEW professional version?
3) Have you got the latest Max (driver)? If not, download it.
4) Are you following the steps to reprogram CRIO?
Good Luck

Hello friend.
Before I went off to solve the complex problem, I got to ask you some more questions. It seems like you got CRIO which had been used before, or a brand new one.
If it is a brand new, you should be able to contact the sale representative to get the replacement, because it should came completely install and ready to use.
If it is a used one, here are you must do some more check. Do you have RT module installed. If not, it might be your problem. That might be why you can not read files, because, it did not exist in your system from the first place. Or you might try to reinstall RT module in your computer. It might solve your problem.
If all else fail, and if the unit has been abuse for example, try to run, and reload the program under really extreme conditions, or bounds the until around with the sand blowing and water dripping, and over 200 degrees. Then we must have a long chat.
Good Luck
