Developing Custom CompactRIO Modules

Hi,

I selected "Real-Time Measurement and Control" as the closest I could see to my topic. If it is not, please let me know and forward to the right group. Thanks.

My question is related to the SPI clock used by cRIO chassis to communicate with a module on the DB15 connector.

- How does the chassis/FPGA/Driver know which SPI clock rate the module can handle?

- I see there is a "SPI Rate" value in the Module descriptor but nowhere could I find how this is used to communicate with the module and with the EEPROM in the module.

I may have to create a module with a slow interface on the DB15. How can I make sure the chassis / FPGA will know how to "speak" slowly to read the EEPROM and the data from my module?

thanks a lot,

MCUwiz

Hi MCUwiz,

Are you using the Module Development Kit (MDK Toolkit)?

If so, you will get better visibility on the MDK Toolkit Forum.

Hi Noah,

thanks for a quick reply.

I have the MDK toolkit.

I tried to go to the MDK Toolkit Forum (I cliked on the link you provided) and I get a page saying that the access is denied.

Do you know someone chairing/moderating the MDK Toolkit forum I could speak to and get this access resolved?

thanks again

I suggest emailing mdkpsesupport@ni.com to request access to the forum.
