Error message - Failed to create directory for auto recovery VIs.

When I start up LabView 8. 2 on Linux, I get a dialog box with the error 'Failed to create directory for auto-recovery VIs.'

I click on it and it goes away no problem.

However, if I try to use '-launch' to run a VI from the command line, the message pops up and the VI will not run until this is clicked.

I looked in the .labviewrc file, and it was not clear which resource to use to set the directory.

Could you let me know how to set up a directory path for the auto-recovery VIs.

Thanks

Mike Dixon

Mike:

Before we get too far into the issue, what distribution of Linux do you have?

Thanks,

Mike:

Thank you very much for getting back with me. I wanted to make sure that your Linux was compatible and it is indeed compatible. I think that the issue may be with file permissions as mentioned in this post. Could it be that you are attempting to launch LabVIEW from a non-root login?

Please let me know what you find.

Thanks,

Rudi N.
