High voltage and fault current measurements

What is the most suitable instrument to be used for the instantanous measurment of High voltage (upto 50kV), fault current (mA~1kA) and energy with the maximum accurate waveforms.

NI does not have any solutions for that high voltage/current, and I do not know of any instruments that do(please post if anyone knows of something). I am pretty sure you will have to step down the voltage using precision resistors. You call for 'the most accurate' is difficult as well if you want to have a large range...for example to read 0 to 50,000 volts with a 16 bit ADC only gives you a resolution of .76V.

All I can say is be safe Smiley Happy
