I can not see cRIO chassis

hello;
I am trying to use a 9002 controller and some modules. I see controller on MAX but I could not see the chassis and the modules.
I run a program in controller and use com port on the controller. Does anyone have an idea?
Thank you.

Hi  Heymen,

how is you lan  connection to your controller?
Do you have a crossed  lan cable? It is essential if you have  a direct connection to your computer.

If so then boot Max.
The remote system icon should expand if you have set up your ip address correctly.

Press F5 to commence a search.

If the application does not find your control then the most likely cause is incorrect ip address.

Suggest that you browse through the help file included in MAX.

For example your computer ip address is 10.0.0.5 with sub mask 255.255.255.0
then you controller could have the following. 10.0.0.2 with identical sub mask.

With your com port  and the enable switch on your controller you can see the 9002 set up
as you reboot it.

hope that gets you started.

Thanks for your answer but, I can see 9002 controller. And I can download and run program on it. Under 9002's Devices And Interfaces tab, I just see ports of it. Chassis does not appear there.

I also repaired RIO software but it does not work.

Hi Heymen,

First of all what do you mean by not seen the "chassis"? You are not supposed to be seeing a chassis. The only thing you should see is the FPGA which should only say RIO0. Also, are you seeing some sort of VISA error, this is a very common problem and it is because the IP settings changed. If this is your case please refer to this Knowledge Base: Why Do I Receive VISA Error 0xBFFF00A7 and NI-RIO Error -63040 Under My CompactRIO Controller in MAX...

If this is not the case please expand the Software tab and make sure that you have NI-VISA and NI-Visa Server installed in your controller.

Hi Heyman,

in your first mail you said that you could not see your modules.

Is this the case when you investigate in Labview environment?

ie
start a new project, find controller, search for  devices/ modules.

Please advise with png pics of your setup with regard to what  your system can see.

thank you all.

I got the point. My RIO software was older than the others. I installed the RIO and it works.

Thanks again.
