IC for cRIO having issues connecting in Max

Solved!
Go to solution

Attached is the message that I get in Max when I click on the remote system. It's seeing the control other Ethernet, but I'm not sure what the problem is. Everything is updated according to the NI update service. IC drivers have been installed. This is the first time I'm using something fresh out of the box. Everything up until now has been already used by the guy who was before me so it's been plug in and oh look its connected. I've wasted too much time trying to think/google this simple solution. Let me know your thoughts.

That looks about right for a controller right out of the box ("Connected - Safe Mode (No Software Installed)").

When you say that the drivers have been installed, to you mean on the host or the controller?  I'm guessing that you mean the host.

If it is right out of the box, try going through the steps in the getting started guide.  Look at the "Configuring the IC-3120 for NI Linux Real-Time" section.

After fiddling with the IP address between the ports and usb adapter I got it working just fine. I had looked through the three articles about set up and getting started. It wasn't a software issue, but my dumb self matching IP addresses...so my computer was trying to talk with itself. Anyway this has been resolved.
