Hello,
I'm trying to install a PCI-6602 counter/timer card to a dedicated Labview Real-Time Desktop PC. The hardware is already in place, but the card is not showing up when I view the devices in the remote system using the Measurement and Automation Explorer. I've trying refreshing the system status and moving the card from one PCI port to another. I've put the 6602 card in another computer to make sure it still, which it still does. I'm not sure how to procede from here. Thanks for any pointers you can give me.

Assuming you are following these direction, let me know which step you are getting stuck on.

Hello Ben D.,
Right now I'm on step 2 under Confirm Device Recognition. The 6602 card is not being recognized in the remote machine.

Please install this and see if this helps.

Also, do you have any other PCI slots in your desktop you can try?

Hey Ben D.,
I've gone ahead and downloaded and installed the PXI software, but the card still refuses to show up. I tried moving the 6602 card to another PCI slot in the remote computer, but still no luck.

Just to try and cover all bases, the remote system the 6602 card is in does not currently have Windows on it. The operating system is the Labview operating system. Is there a different procedure for installation in this case?

Is this card in your host computer? Come to think of it, I would expect it to show up in MAX under "My System" in your Devices and Interfaces. Have you checked there as well?

Hey Ben,
The 6602 card is in the target machine (just to make sure I'm getting the terminology right, the remote system in the lab). No luck in finding the device under "My Systems" in MAX.

Rats. Ok, I got a better sense of your set-up then. I have two theories...
1. Your PCI bus is not supported for the RT OS. If you have a different PCI card, go ahead and try that in your target system. I would go thru this and verify that the you meet the system requirements. http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/8239?OpenDocument
2. Perhaps you have no installed the DAQmx driver or RT module on your host computer.
