My FPGA project doesn't want to recognize te module NI 9870. Why?

Finally, there was a setup missing. I found it on the website here http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/935/lang/en so now it's ok.

Thanks for your help.

Hi

Yes, now the module is recognized. But I can't communicate with it. Do you know where the problem can come from? Plus, I will connect a spectroradiometer to the NI9870 which has already a software matching to it. Do you think it will cause any problem?

Regards,

Julie

Hi Julie,

What exact problems are you getting when communicating with the device?

Have you tried running an example program? You can find this when you navigate to:

Hardware Input/Output -> CompactRIO -> Module Specific -> Serial

in the Example Finder.

What kind of software does the spectroradiometer have?

Sorry for the delay of answer, I had some other issues. I try what you say this afternoon. What do you mean by "what kind of software" ?

Ok, bad news, nothing is working. I have an error when I launch my host: error 61141; it says that my FPGA must be busy. Yes, but busy with what? I don't know wherer the problem can come from, I just ran examples!

Hi Julie,

Can you check for me and see if you have two references open on the same FPGA in your host VI? Is it possible for you to post your source code or maybe a screenshot of it?

If I understand what you say, I can't have the same host for all my modules?

You can. You just can't open two references for the same FPGA bitfile or VI.

Ok, I attached one part of my host block diagram (the other part is the same as the example for thermocouples) and the project explorer. I don't understand what you mean by "two references" (it's a silly question, but I really don't know!).

I would like to clarify what I said above. What I meant was: You can download and run only one FPGA VI at a time on a single FPGA target. Are you referencing two different FPGA's in your host VI?
