Need Helps: cRIO-9014 IP Reset/Reset to factory default

Hi all,

I need your valuable help/suggestions to reset the IP address or do a faculty default resetof cRio-9014.

I know it an old equipment. I developed and deployed this DAQ system with multiple cRIOs( 9012 and 9014) more than 10 years ago.  It is a real-time standalone system with executables. The system had been running 24/7 for more than 10 years.  It was shutdown for a while and we are planning to upgrade the whole system.

I have troubles to reset the IP address/reset the system to factory default.  I have LabVIEW 2012, 2019(32bit), 2021(both 32 and 64bit), CompactRIO 18.5 &19.5 installed on the host computer.

Following actions were taken:

  • used a direct crossover cable connection
  • Connected both PC and cRIO a router
  • Connected both PC and cRIO a unmanageable switch
  • Followed Troubleshoot Remote System Recovery in MAX with a null modem cable to recovery or reset the IP.

All cables and network equipment were tested and verified with another cRIO. I have no luck to recover the IP or reset it to factory default.

During the whole procedure, I noticed:

  • the status LED is always off and only the power LED is green since it powered through V1 terminal. I believe the status LED should flash few times  during the IP/factor default reset
  • all LEDs are off except power LED
  • Both LEDs of RJ45 port are off when reset button is pressed. Link LED is always orange/yellow.

I am thinking the system or some system files are crashed. In this case, does anyone know how to recovery/reset IP, reset to factory default or even format the disk?

Thanks millions.

The cRIO-9014 is has DIP switches that allow you to perform various functions. This includes resetting the IP address and forcing the cRIO into Sage Mode. Resetting the IP address should set it to 0.0.0.0, which can be detected by NI MAX. Safe Mode ensures no application is running on the cRIO. Set both of these DIP switches to on and see if that allows the cRIO to be detected.
