R-series analogue input range

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi All,

I am starting my first application using a RIO board for analogue input and output (two off PCI-7833).

My previous experience of DAQ systems was on PCs so I mostly familiar with DAQmx. It is my understanding that DAQmx is not really used on these boards, so there are no DAQmx tasks to play around with.

So, my question is this: how can I dynamically set the signal range of the analogue inputs so that I get the best resolution possible?

What I mean in, in DAQmx if I know the input signal is only 1 V pk to pk I can set this beforehand in the task.

Thanks!

OK, a bit of further digging shows the input range is fixed at +/- 10V, is this correct?

That is correct. The R series boards have a fixed input range of +/- 10V with 16-bit resolution.
