I am trying to make temperature measurements using a K-type thermocouple plugged into a SCB-68 board linked to the NI-PCI-MIO-16XE-50 card. The readings I see with DAQ assistant do not make any sense. Is it possible to make temperature measurements with thsi DAQ card?
Have you read through the manual for the SCB-68 to ensure that you have connected the thermocouple to the correct terminals, and have also set the internal switches to enable the Cold Junction Compensation for the connector block? If you have not, this will cause readings that don't make any sense. Follow the link below for the manual:
Thank you for your fast reply and the manual, much appreciated. I didn't have the correct settings for the switches on the board. I am able to take good measurements of the temperature now.
