Using a IEEE-1394 Firewire Kamera with an PC RT-Target

Hello,

I need help using an IEEE 1394 Firewire Camera with a PC as Real-time-Target
running LabView Real-Time 8.5.1 and NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 RT 2.0.5

The Real-time-Target is running without any problems and the onboard IEEE controler was detected by the Real-time-OS

>> Found OHCI Compiant IEEE 1394 Host Controler
>> Location: bus 0 device 2 function 3

but if I connect the camera to the controler following message appears

>> Failed to start IEEE 1394 SBP2 Device Error code = -1217

The camera is normally supported by NI-Drivers and never made problems in non real time systems.

Can someone please help me with this problems?

Hello,

I solved the problem myself, or better worked around!

For all people having tthe same problem, the problem was not the camera, it was to onboard Firewire-A controler.

The controler was found on the real time Target:

>> Found OHCI Compiant IEEE 1394 Host Controler
>> Location: bus 0 device 2 function 3

but didn't work!

The new Controler is a PCI IEEE 1394 Controler fron NI

>> Found OHCI Compiant IEEE 1394 Host Controler
>> Location: bus 0 device 19 function 0

and works good.

All diference between working controller and the failed controler is function 0 and function 3 and of course the device number!

Hope i could help people having this problem in future!

Kind regards
RTuser
