I have a cRIO-9024 which is not being detected on my laptop computer which is running LabVIEW 8.6, MAX 4.5.1f1, & NI-RIO 3.1.1. I was able to connect to it on a desktop computer (same cable) which is running LabVIEW 2009, MAX 4.7.0f4, and NI-RIO 3.4. The laptop is able to ping the cRIO-9024, but when I try to detect it with MAX, I get a message that says "The device at this address is not supported".
For various reasons, I want to keep the laptop with LabVIEW 8.6, but I also want to use it to connect to the cRIO-9024. What are my choices here? Do I need to update to the latest version of MAX? Can I do that and still keep using LabVIEW 8.6? Please advise.

Additional Info - I just connected a cRIO-9073 to the laptop and it was detected by MAX right away.

What version of NI-RIO is installed on the controller? Sometimes if the version number on the controller and PC do not match, there are connection issues. If they are different, I'd suggest installing 3.4 on the 8.6 laptop and you should see better results.
