What percentage of jitter should I expect on a Real-Time deterministic loop running on a cRIO?

Assuming that my code is not introducing any jitter to my deterministic loop, what is the percentage of jitter I should expect to be introduced by the RT OS?

Hello jarcTek

-          I could point you to the RT Benchmarking example, there you could run that example and determine the jitter for your system. Please check the link below:

-          http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370622K-01/lvrtbestpractices/rt_bp_benchmarking/

-          Additionally, let me point you to a document with recommendations to avoid jitter.

Thank you for your reply.

I have used that benchmarking tool and have my own tools as well. I just want to know what would people consider "acceptable" jitter.

yeah... the “acceptable jitter” depends totally on your application's specifications. So there is no a number for acceptable jitter, we define a limit as acceptable based in our needs.
