Hello everyone,
I have a cRIO, the two Ethernet ports of which are currently used by two separate switches: one dedicated to critical systems and the other non-critical. The non-critical switch is used in particular for FTP transfers.
We want to free up one of these ports by moving the Ethernet connection from the non-critical switch to the USB-C port on the cRIO using an Ethernet/USB-C adapter. The aim is to be able to add NI-9145 expansion chassis (EtherCAT) in slave mode to increase the number of acquisition modules available.
Is it possible to connect an Ethernet cable to the cRIO via an Ethernet/USB-C adapter?
Cheers,
Lucas

Hi Lucas,
here is the "official NI answer" according to the knowledge base article:
Compatibility of Ethernet to USB Adapters with NI Products - NI
-- Because Ethernet to USB adapters are not NI products, they are not officially supported. Many users have reported that they have not experienced any issues when using NI products with Ethernet to USB adapters, but NI cannot guarantee expected behavior when using such adapters.
