cRIO Connects then disconnects

Hello all,

I am having an issue similar to what was recently posted.  We have a cRIO-9074 that will show up in MAX alright and stay connected for a few minutes at most then will disconnect.  We must reboot the cRIO to get it to connect again.  We have tried to reinstall software on the cRIO several times but no luck in keeping it connected.  We have been able to compile an FPGA VI and have the cRIO run it however it has been tempermental at best and disconnects at its leisure.  We have tried two different computers:

Computer 1:

Windows XP

LabVIEW 2011

NI-RIO 4.0

VISA Server 5.1

Xilinx 12.4

Computer 2:

Windows 7

LabVIEW 2011 SP2

NI-RIO 4.0

VISA Server 5.1

Xilinx 12.4

cRIO:

NI-RIO 4.0

VISA Server 5.1

...

The first computer is running Mcafee firewall and as of yet we cannot change/disable it.  However on the second computer I am able to disable the firewall.  The VISA server is set to listen to port 3537 on the host computer as well as the cRIO.  The VISA server permission is wildcard "*".  Does anyone have any ideas on what we could try?  Thanks a lot.

Hi Moparnick,

This unexpected behavior appears to be very similar to Corrective Action Request #317220 in which cRIO disconnects after a few minutes when PTP is enabled and the cRIO has a static IP address. In order to fix this, install the latest version of NI-TimeSync to the cRIO and PXI found here: https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-timesync.html
