labview 8.0 real-time module installation/upgrade problem

hi,
     I am a new comer here. I have a problem when I try to install labview 8.0 real-time module. I used a desktop PC as target system (ETS), and use Labview 7.1 and real-time module 7.1, it works fine. recently, we got labview 8.0 and I got problem when I installed it. What I did is:
1) install labview 8.0, driver CD 1 & 2, real-time module, fpga module  on host PC (the installation sequence is like this) ;
2) format target PC and boot up;
3) use MAX to config IP address of target PC;
4) install labview and real-time module to target PC by MAX, it requires reboot target PC, when I reboot the target, the host PC can not find it, it always shows "disconnected"...

I installed the software several times, but it can not fix this problem. However, when I change back to version 7.1, then it can work again. So I thinks there is something wrong with my software/configration. Did anyone else encounter this problem before? Thanks.

Hello Jeff,

So this problem happens after installing the LabVIEW RT engine on the target, correct?  After the reboot, your controller does not show up in MAX.  Did you install any of the ethernet drivers?  You may need to install the driver disk after installing Real-Time so that you will be able to install driver support for Real-Time.

Also what is the behavior of the target after install?  Can you ping it or ftp to it using the last known IP address?
