Hello,
Did you use the Desktop Utility to format your hard drive for LabVIEW RT 8.6 ?
Sometimes this kind of issue can happen when you try installing softwares for LabVIEW RT 8.6 but when your computer is formatted for another version of LabVIEW RT.
So for ETS Desktops and other Real-Time targets, use the Desktop PC Utility to format the target for Real-Time 8.6. This utility is available in Measurement & Automation Explorer through Tools»RT Disk Utilities»Desktop PC Utility USB Drive.
You can have more information about that issue in this Knowledge Base.

Hello,
You can use the floppy disk utility too, to format your hard drive. Sometimes it's easier that way.
