unsupported item the plugin for your selected item is not installed...

I am getting this 'unsupported item' error and I can't figure out why. I have the FPGA module and the RIO module installed.  Is this a version error? I think I may have 2014 labview, but there is only rio up to version 13? Thanks for any help.

"I think" and "may" does not really give any useful information.

Open MAX and find out exactly what you have installed.
