ACC01 with piezoresistive accelerometer?

I know that the ACC01 is meant for IEPE accelerometers, but is it okay to use a piezoresistive accelerometer if I indicate the voltage supply as external, and just connect the + and - signal wires.  The accelerometer requires 15 volts excitation and has a sensitivity of 0.0325 mV/g

NDSUNate,

I can't think of any reason why this wouldn't work. The only thing to note is that this is a pretty small sensitivity, and depending on your DAQ card, you may not get the best resoltion in g's. The gain of the module is 2, so knowing the maximum gain of your DAQ card and its resolution, you should be able to calculate your net resolution.

Hope this helps,

Nate,

FYI, the DAQ driver automatically sets the DAQ card's gain depending on the sensitivity and min and max input ranges your specify, taking into account the gain of two on the ACC01.
