Can I use "Getting_Started_with_SCXI-153X" with the NI PXI-1010 ?

Are you referring to the Getting Started with SCXI-153X or the example that Eric recommended? If you are using the Getting Started one, take a look at what Eric said (above)about using the DAQmx example instead. If you are already using the DAQmx example, please describe the problem you are experiencing. Also, take a look at the links below for information about DAQmx and Timing/Synchronization.

I am working with the cont acq VI for the scxi 1530 and when I try to run it, it comes up with some type of error message about the analog edge trigger is not an option and to use none or digital edge. I don't know what to do.. i change it and then the block diagram doesn't work. would you be able to offer any help? thanks.

Hi JC,

If the DAQ device you are using does not have analog triggering then this feature will not be available to you. Low-cost M Series devices do not have analog triggering. Refer to the documentation for your device to see what it's capabilities are.

I am using a 6034E daq card which allows for analog triggering. I do not understand why this Vi will not work. any thoughts?

Are you setting up your analog trigger correctly?  The only way you can have an analog edge trigger with a PXI-1010 is by having the edge come from the first channel of the first module, and make sure that it's the first item in your scan list.

Another option would be to use the SCXI-1180 and cable to the back of the PXI-1010.  You can find more details on it in these 2 KnowledgeBases:

If you're doing all of this correctly, then let us know when you are getting errors, what they are, and how you've tried to follow the information they've given you in the error message.

I am not using a PXI -1010. I guess I should explain my setup better. I am using an SCXI-1530 and a PCI-6034E DAQ card. So, I still am unsure of the whole triggering issue.

Hi jc288,

If you're not using a PXI-1010, then just look at the first link that I posted above about Analog Triggering with SCXI.  Make sure that you are meeting all of the stipulations (using the first channel in the first module in the first slot; or using an SCXI-1180).

If you are still running into problems then please tell us what those issues are, such as the error code, the program you are attempting to use.  There are lots of things that could go wrong, but we need more information to try to narrow it down so that we can fix the problem.
