Chassis SCXI 1000 modules arranging

Hello everybody,

I have the following configuration

SCXI - 1000 "chassis"

SCXI - 1100 "32 AI module"
SCXI - 1300 "Terminal block for the 1100"

SCXI - 1180 "Feed Through module"
SCXI - 1302 "Terminal block for the 1180"

SCXI - 1349 "Assembly for connection with the PCI card" [182671-01]
NI PCI - 6221 "This is my M Series DAQ card" [779066-01]
SHC68-68-EPM (2M) [192061-02]

but there are some things I didn't understand:

1) what is the function of SCXI-1349?
2) how I know the cards that work in multiplixed mode, is it permanent feature in the card or there are some cards that can
    work in multiplixed mode?
3) which card will be installed in the first slot SCXI-1100 or SCX-1180?

It will be kind of you o reply these questions,
Thanks so much for your support.

Hi eyad,

You should have the correct devices to set up your system. The SCXI-1100 can be installed in the first slot and you can use the SCXI-1349 to connect your SCXI-1100 and your PCI-6221. The SCXI-1349 is an interface for your SCXI modules to be connected to the data acquisition card. The multiplexed mode means that the PCI-6221 will switch between each module as it makes its measurements. There are a few modules that can be operated on a parallel mode, but they each need to have their own data acquisition card connected to it. I have included links to some additional information which you may find useful. The Getting Started Manual will describe each component of the SCXI system and how it can be set up/configured and the other document explains which SCXI modules can be used in parallel mode.
