Configuring a SCXI-1125 module for use with LabVIEW

An engineer who once worked here set up a SCXI-1000 chassis with a SCXI-1120 module to collect data on various signals. The system uses an MIO-16E-2 DAQ card with LabVIEW 5.0 running on Win95, and works fine. I have been asked to add a SCXI-1125 module to collect more data points. When I ran the NI-DAQ configuration utility, it warned me that the configuration file had not been saved in the DAQ Channel Wizard and brought up the Measurment & Automation Explorer. Even though the current application works and runs, there is nothing listed under Devices & Interfaces, or any of the other subcategories in MAX. Auto detection does not seem to work, I don't know what to do next, and I don't want to mess up the part that already wo

It sounds like you are saying that both the SCXI-1120 and the SCXI-1125 work fine now, but there is nothing that shows up under the subcategories in MAX. Try refreshing MAX to see if it will then show your devices.

Also, I'm not sure exactly what you have done here.

"When I ran the NI-DAQ configuration utility, it warned me that the configuration file had not been saved in the DAQ Channel Wizard and brought up the Measurment & Automation Explorer."

Resetting up the system shouldn't be too much trouble. Especially, if you use the SCXI installation guide. http://www.ni.com/support/scxi/

This should get you going. If not, more specific information would be helpful.

Hope this helps!
