Custom Scaling Issue

Hardware: I have a SCXI - 1000 being controlled by a SCXI 1600 module. I am reading a voltage into a SCXI-1100 with a SCXI-1303 as a terminal block.
Software: SignalExpress 2.5
OS: Windows XP

Signal Input range is set at -10 to 10 Volt range. I tried to setup a linear custom scale =>
Temp = 233.4(Voltage) - 18
With this scale the temperature maxes out at 28.678, but if I take the scale off the voltage is not capped and keeps moving. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Is this response you get in Signal Express, MAX, or both?

Hi Jack

Let see if your temperature maxes out at 28.678 that will correspond to a voltage of 0.199 and can infer from your post that without the scale you are able to read more than 0.199 volts.

I have two solutions for you: first you can change the “Signal Input Ranges” to a range including the result in temperature that you are expecting, see how the “scaled units” changes from volts to “custom”. Second you can create a formula to scale the volts to temperature and avoid changing the “Signal Input Range” to the new custom scale.

I hope it helps

The issue was the limits on the custom scale. Thank you Jane. 😄
