Error -10800 when running AI start on SCXI-1102 w/ 1303 - 6034E

I have an SCXI 1001 chassis with six SCXI-1102 modules installed, each using SCXI-1303 connector blocks, connected to a PCI-6034E. When attempting to initialize acquisition for thermocouple measurement using buffered acquisition, I get Error -10800 after AI Start (NI-DAQ CL: The operation could not complete within the time limit).

The card tests ok, and virtual channels work as well.

This application worked with a previous version of NI-DAQ (6.9.2 with LabVIEW 6.1). I now use NI-DAQ 7.2 with LabVIEW 7.1.

Dear AEICincy
Thank you for choosing National Instruments!

Addressing the issue of using the SCXI 1102 modules -- we would suggest that you try a couple of things to make sure that you are doing everything right:

1. Increase your buffer size that you are setting -- so if you are reading in 1000 values then set the buffer to be 1001 or greater. Sometimes this could be the cause for the error that you are getting.

2. Use just one module and run a shipping example to do verify if the same error occurs -- I would recommend any analog input (buffered aquisiton) example to run to check the system.

This should effectively put you on track to setting up the system in order to do thermocouple measurements.

Thanks and Regards

Thanks. I discovered the problem to be a defective module.

Removing its address from the config list allowed the VI to run without errors. Moving the same module to a different slot re-produced the error.

Hello,
I have the same error message -10800 when running analogic input (4-20 mA sensors). I have an SCXI1000 chassis with one SCXI-1102B modules installed connected to a BNC2095.
My LABVIEW version is 6.0.0 and NIMAX version is 2.0.3.6.
When I test the virtual channels in MAX, they are in error. I have a problem with the wire between the SCXI1102B and the BNC2095. I will make a test with a new wire at the end of the week or next week.
Do you find the error source? If not, I tell you next week if the wire is the source of this error
