Log temperature data through SCC TC02, Sc 2345, PCMCIA 6036E

HI,

I have many problems as using lots of NI stuffs as a new user.  I connected SC-2345 box with a PCMCIA 6036E card trough SCC TC02 modules. I wanted to log data and see signals from K type thermocouple inputs. When, we connect thermocouple with DAQ assistant it asked for 3 options (Built in, constant, channel) and which should I select from these three options. If it is the ‘constant’ option what is the CJC value? It didn't work with ‘Channel’ and ‘built in’ options and only worked with ‘constant’ option with default '25' CJC value but there was a reading but it didn’t give an actual value. The temperature showed a value with ‘constant x 10^14’ which is very big and unacceptable. I have attached one of the error notices which I got as a screen print.

Please help me to clarify this.

Just explain me how I can log data and see waveforms of k-type thermocouples with SCC TC02, SC 2345, and PCMCIA 6036E.

Best Regards,

CC12

Hi,

Welcome to National Instruments forums! I found this forum post which deals with a similar problem. There is a thermistor in the TC02 for CJC, although usually an approximation close to room temperature is sufficient for the CJC constant. How are you setting up your thermocouple - in MAX or using LabVIEW? You should be able to set up the task so that CJC is built in. This forum post may also be of some use - it deals with problems relating to temperature with the SC-2345.
