PCI-4070 self test failure in MAX error -233905

I have been using a PCI 4070 DMM to take voltage measurements and capture waveform data in an ATE system for about four years now and have not had any problems.  Suddenly when taking voltage measurements the DMM reported zero voltage readings and returned error -1074417756 internal hardware error.

When the MAX self test was run on the device error code -233905 was returned.  The ATE tower computer was reset a few times but this made no differnece.  I disassembled the tower and reseated the PCI card and this made no difference either; the same error code was returned when a self test was executed in MAX.

Is there a list of error codes for the self test of the PCI-4070 in MAX?  Does the card need to be returned to NI for investigation?

Hi GaryM2000,

I think I have found your problem.

The problem is that the fuse connected to the 12V power supply on the isolated part of the circuit has blown. This is the F1 fuse.

To double check that this is the problem I would suggest doing a continuity test across the fuse using a handheld DMM.

If this shows that the fuse has blown, the card will need to be sent in to your local NI branch for an RMA.

I have provided a picture below to show you where the fuse can be found.

Hi Michael, i have removed fuse F1 and found that this is not the problem, do you have any other ideas?

Hi Gary,

If the fuse wasn't the problem I'm afraid that it is almost certainly a hardware error that requires an RMA.

Therefore, the only other thing I can suggest is you contact your local NI branch and they will be able to arrange a repair for you.
