Pressure and pH measurements

I am planning to set up a LabVIEW DAQ system that will be taking pressure readings (from pressure transducers) and pH readings (from electrodes). We want to be able to add individual transducers and electrodes to the system at any given time. What kind of hardware do I need to accomplish this? I have read a little about FieldPoint, would that work?

Hello;

The basic features that you need to specify before buying a DAQ systems are:
- Sample Rate
- Number of Channels
- Distributed I/O or not

If the Sample Rate is not too fast, and you need a distributed I/O, you will probably get away with the Field Point modules. Otherwise, I would advise you to look into the E-series DAQ boards.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response Filipe,
We plan on sampling at a rate of once a second. So not very fast. The number of channels will be growing. First we will start with 8 pressure transducers and 7 pH electrodes, but we want to be able to add channels with relative ease and low cost. Are their obvious advantages and disadvantages between distributed I/O and SCXI?

I am beginning to acquire data similar to what you described above. I am looking to acquire code for pH/electrochemical measurements for multiple sensors and measuring half-cell potentials vs. a common reference. Looking for help and suggestions. Contact swells@isiph.com. Thanks.
