SCXI-1001 not responding to SCXI 1520 modules

Hi,

I have an SCXi-1001 chassis with a scxi 1600.  When I connect 1520 modules into the box the chassis will not communicate and the lights on the 1600 darken and not blink active. MAX detects the chassis when there are no 1520 modules but once I insert them then it does not detect it. I have tested the 1520 modules in another chassis and they work. I have already replaced the fuse and the backplane fuses as well. Is there a problem with a chassis

or can it be something I missed.

Daniel,

What was the other chassis you tried the 1520s in?  Are you trying multiple 1520s in the chassis all at once?  If so can you try using just one of them?

Do other modules work in this chassis or is it just the 1520s that are having problems?

I have tried the 1520s in another scxi-1001 and a scxi-1000. When I tried them in the original 1001 chassis I put them in each separately
and in different slots to see if this made a difference but they would not work.

In the suspect chassis I have connected scxi-1100 modules and they worked.

How many SCXI-1520 modules exhibit this behavior?  Are these new cards?  Have they ever been used before?  What version of DAQmx do you have installed?

Sorry for not replying sooner.

We have about 6 SCXI1520 modules, about 3 years old,  and they all do not work in the 1001 chassis in question but work in all the other chassis we have ( about 3 others).  They used to work in in this chassis but it does seem that something happened a month ago and now the do not work in  this one specific chassis.

Judicious,

When you look at the back of your chassis near where the power cord goes in does it say 120AC?  What about the other chassis?

Are you using multiplexed or parallel mode?

The power tumbler is set to 120AC on all chassis.  I do not have them connected to each other they are on separate computers and the 1520s work.

Today, the fans on the scxi1001 chassis did not turn on so I changed  the fuses and the 2 backplane fuses and still they are not working. Does this mean that there maybe a problem with the circuitry of the chassis?

Daniel, This sounds like a power problem with your chassis. The fact that you had fans fail makes me even more sure that it is probably a power supply issue. I recommend that you give me a call at 1-866-275-6964 and reference #1479143 to repair the chassis.
