SCXI-1200 in SCXI-2000 with won't test using serial cable??

I have a SCXI-2000 with a SCXI-1200 and SCXI-1100 installed. I can read the 1100 and the 1200 with a parallel cable connection to the back of the 1200. I can read the chassis with a serial cable, but cannot get the 1200 do not test out.
I have tried earlier versions of Nidaq and the newer MAX. My 7" cable is new. Is there something else blocking the chassis from the 1200?

Hi,

Have you made sure to also hook up the parallel cable as shown on page 4-17 of the December 1996 SCXI 1200 User's Manual? Take a look at the configuration, if you just connect the serial cable and not the parallel, you would be able to see the chassis but not the card.

When I connect up the Serial cable I use the 7" cable to connect the SCXI-1200 to the SCXI-2000. This is when I am not able to get the 1200 to pass the test. It works fine with the 1200 connected straight to the parallel port on my computer so I know the 1200 will pass the test. I also can get the 2000 to verify when connected with the Serial cable, but it won,t allow the 1200 to pass the test.
