SCXI-1600

Why I get no real signal with SCXI-1600 from sensor connected to SCXI-1520 while configuration of all modules and devices is OK? Already in Test pannel of MAX no real signal can be reached! With connection over E series card works good!

Hello,

The SCXI-1600 has no Test Panels in MAX and is grayed out. You can perform Test
Chassis to verify the presence of the SCXI-1600. Just start doing your application using LabVIEW or a Text-based ADE. For more information about this, read chapeter 4 of the following manual.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

thanks,

LA

I've reed the Manual and I saw that no test panel for SCXI-1600 exists, but the test panel of SCXI-1520 with connection block 1314 doesn’t work - no real signal can be acquired. Only a constant value from correct connection of force sensor can be seen - no response of load. At last I moved the module 1520 to the second slot right beside 1600, which is in the first slot - suggestion of our support SLOVENIA. From this place I've removed the 1112 (temp. module) and that solved the problem - the signal from strain gauges was OK. But after I placed the module 1112 to the next free slot of chassis 1001 and the problem of signal conditioning with 1520 appears again. Is there an incompatibility of these two modules or is something wrong with chassis, because the same combination of modules worked in the chassis 1000?
One problem more appears with chassis exchange (old 1000 new 1001): The module 1161 also doesn't work and an error appears;
>Error -200835 occurred at daqmxcfg_DAQmx Start Task.vi
>Possible reason(s):
>SCXI device cannot be used in this task because the power to the device was turned off after the task had been created.
>Call DAQmx Clear Task and then create a new task to use this SCXI device.
The same error comes from test panel and from VI.
I've done the suggested procedure but no positive effect can be reached.

Any advice?
Thank you for help

Hi,

So are these problems occuring in the 1000 or 1001 chassis? You are ultimately wanting an SCXI chassis with an SCXI 1600, 1520, 1112, and 1161. Has this setup ever worked? What has changed if it has worked? Does each module work with just the SCXI 1600? Which driver version are you using? I look forward to your response.

Yes the configuration is:
SCXI -1600
SCXI -1520
SCXI -1112
SCXI -1161
Those modules work together when E series card for communication module is used instead of SCXI-1600. All modules in all combinations worked OK. So the problem appeared with building in module 1600.
With last equipment tests I've found out following facts:
Separately with SCXI-1600 works modules 1520 or 1112 with no problem. When both of these modules are present in chassis than 1112 works, but 1520 not!
A problem with 1161 is totally indifferent to other modules and it doesn't work at all. The error is still the same.
I've tried to change also the positions of modules and sequences of modules in chassis, but no positive effect.

All those combination I've tested also in chassis 1000 and the problems are the same.
I look forward to your advice.
I have DAQ drivers 7.3.1

Hi,

Well..I went ahead and setup your hardware, and I have duplicated your problem. I am going to pass this issue on to our R&D Team, and I will keep you updated. Have a Great Day!

Hi,

It is great you found the same problem, so my accession to device connection and use was correct. Of course it is not great, because the problem disables equipment usage.
For now our new equipment is therefore half useful! Did you find already some solution to enable all devices together?

Please let me know how to proceed!

Hi,

This issue is with the R&D team, and there is no update as of now. This will probably take some time, but I will let you know as soon as I find something out. Have a Great Day!

Hi,

What revision of the 1112 do you have (A, B, C, D, etc.). This is the letter at the end of the part #. For instance, 191329B-02, would be a revision B board. Let me know. Thanks, and have a Great Day!
