SCXI-1600

Hi,

Ok, there is a known issue with the FPGA on rev. B. What you need to do know is call into NI, and have them RMA the board. Tell them that you spoke with George Millas (Applications Engineer), and I told you that you need to RMA the board to rev. C of the board. If you have any trouble please let me know. Have a Wonderful Day!

Hi George,

Thank you for your help and advice for problem solution with 1112. I am in contact with NI-Slovenia and they already promise to change the module 1112. Can you explain me what RMA means?

Do you have also a solution or suggestion to solve the problem with module 1161, which also doesn’t work via USB-1600, but over the E series card works OK? The problem and error I have explained you already in messages above.

Thank you for help.

Hi,

RMA is just an acronym for returning a product for repair. It sounds like you have already taken care of that.

As far as the 1161 is concerned, please explain in more detail what is happening. Is it not working in MAX, LabVIEW, or both. Do you have another 1161 that you can use to see if the problem is duplicated between modules? Let me know. Thanks.

Hi,

As I mentioned the module 1161 doesn't work, when SCXI 1000 or 1001 is conected via SCXI-1600, the error is:

>Error -200835 occurred at daqmxcfg_DAQmx Start Task.vi
>Possible reason(s):
>SCXI device cannot be used in this task because the power to the device was turned off after the task had been created.
>Call DAQmx Clear Task and then create a new task to use this SCXI device.

The same error comes from MAX test panel and from VI.
The module works OK when SCXI-1000 or 1001 is connected via E series card.
I have no other module to test!

Have you tried doing a chassis reset in MAX? (Right-click on the chassis, and choose 'Reset Chassis')
Also, you could try moving the 1161 to a lower slot number than the 1600.
