Wiring of scxi 1302 terminal block

Hi,

I have a eurotherm 2208 temperature controller.  According to the manual, the controller is capable of communicating via EIA-485.  However, I would like to use my SCXI 1000 chassis with 1200 card and a 1302 terminal block to connect to the eurotherm.  I have not a clue on the wiring scheme of the 1302.  Would anyone have any advice on who i might be able to wire the eurotherm to a 1302?  According the the eurotherm manual, I have an HD, HE, and HF for common, A and B, respectively.

Hello Aduong,

There is a KnowledgeBase online which discusses the pinout of the SCXI-1302 here. However, I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do with this device. Are you saying that you'd like to implement EIA-485 communication between the SXCI-1200 and the Eurotherm device? The SCXI-1200 is a data acquisition device and is not really designed to perform serial communication. This would be best achieved with the serial port on a computer or with a plug-in EIA-485 device. I suppose you could attempt to manually decode and encode serial communication using a DAQ device, but it may be difficult to strictly adhere to the EIA-485 specifications.
