can I add another 1102 module to my chassis which already has one 1102?

I've currently got a SCXI-1001 chassis with an 1102/1303 combination (and 1349 cable adapter to my 6221) for 32 thermocouple channels.  Can I add another 1102 to the chassis and access it with that DAQ?  Any special cabling I'll need?

Hello Ralph,

As long as you have an empty slot in your SCXI Chassis, you can add an additional module.  The SCXI-1102 is a multiplexed module which means that each channel in each module is multiplexed onto channel 0 of the controlling DAQ device, so it is possible to use another SCXI-1102 without any additional cabling.

You might check out the SCXI Quick Start Guide for more information on configuring SCXI systems.

Let us know if you have additional questions.

Thanks!

Laura

Does it communicate through the chassis or do I need an additional cable adapter or cabling?

Hi Ralph,

The 1102 will communicate through the chassis.  You do not need any extra cables or adapters.

Regards,

Laura
