Could you be a bit more clear?

do you mean that you want to Dynamically set/reset the range of ADC while measuring a signal?

or do you mean something else by 'AUTO GAIN'?

Hello Suresh,

The gain for the SCXI 1125 is automatically configured when you choose the Max and Min range for the signal input range.  To verify the gain setting you can use the Gain Value property in the NI-DAQmx Channel property node if you are using NI-DAQmx.  Or refer to this knowledgebase if you are using Traditional NI-DAQ.  You can set the gain in software using the Gain Value property in DAQmx or refer to the Example program from the above knowledgebase if you are using Traditional DAQ.

Gain settings are not a dynamic property once the task is started on the SCXI 1125.

Good luck!

Hi,

I second Michela's point that  Gain settings are not a dynamic property once the task is started on the SCXI 1125 but would like to add one point.

your hardware does not have traditional DAQ support, hence concentrate on DAQmx Gain settings.

Hai Micaela N & dev,

Thanks for your Suggestions, from your points shall i conclude that dynamically i cannot change the Gain Property, if i want to change, i want to Stop the Current Process then i can change with the help of Gain Property node settings. but i have a doubt my signal is going to vary from 0.1v to 20v through out the process,in this case how can i set the gain property, Expecting your suggestions.

Hi Suresh,

You have to set gain that caters to the highest expected voltage level in your measured signal.

Are using SCXI 1327 terminal block??

if you are,  a gain setting of 20 on SCXI 1125 and gain of 0.01 on SCXI 1127 which gives an input range of =/- 25V, should measure a signal of your specified range

hope this helps

Regards

Dev
