what is the difference between strain gages and strain gauges?

now i m working load cell and pressure sensors and i dont make difference between strain gages and strain gauges may you give me some help?

The only difference between "Strain Gauge" and "Strain Gage" that I know of is the spelling. It is similar to the color grey/gray.
There are many types of strain gages/gauges that have different characteristics and the documents referenced in the other answer point out some of these details.

American English use the word gage.
British English is gauge.
Except this , both gage and gauge mean the same.

The difference between strain gages and strain gauges is the same difference between color(American) and colour (British); "u"
