Am I using the correct device

I am planning to use the 9215A USB based DAQ.  I have some questions to verify that it is the correct device for my need.

I plan to make 16 current measurements the out put of the current measurement devices is 10 mV/A.  I will be measuring upto 80 amps so will end up with a + or - 0.8 volt signal.  The above device says it has a range of + or - 10 volts.  Will I loose resolution at the voltage levels I plan to measure?  Will the software allow me to dial up the resolution at the low voltages I am measuring?

Can I connect more than one device to my computer through the USB port?

Does the software enable me to decide the window (total no. of samples) I want to measure?

Pratap,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments!

I will answer your questions in the order I read them Smiley Happy!

No, you will not resolution in your lower scale measurements as long as you specify the range.  The DAQmx driver will take the range that you specify and apply its full-scale resolution to that range.  Therefore, you could use a range of -1V to 1V, and you will get the full resolution applied to that 2V range.

As long as you have more than one USB port, you can connect more than one device.  The NI devices that run over the USB structure are independent of each other, so you should be good to go there!

Yes, the DAQmx software will allow you to choose the window size of your acquisition.
