Error initializing instrument with IVI drivers after installing 7.1

I recently modified some vi's that we were running to use ivi-com drivers from Agilent, since the drivers available from NI for the RF signal generator I was using didn't seem to work properly.  I was running Labview 7.0 express that came as a demo on a new Tektronix TDS5000 series oscilloscope when I wrote the code.  Everything was working fine.  After the trial software license ran out I installed Labview 7.1 on a different machine, installed the IVI Shared Components and the same driver I was using.  Now when I try to run the vi, I can't initialize the RF sig gen.  I get some obscure error that Labview doesn't recognize.   Is there a step I'm missing going to Labview 7.1?  It would seem to me with the drivers installed, this vi should be working the same as it did before.  Any help would be appreciated.

mkunkel,

When you installed LabVIEW 7.1, did you do a mass compile on all of your previously built VI's?  This is an important step when upgrading LabVIEW.  To do this, go to Tools >> Advanced >> and then select Mass Compile.  Select a directory with the VI's that you would like to mass compile.  This may solve your problem.  If not, I will need some more information on your hardware and software.  Are you using NI's RF Signal Generator?  What versions of the drivers(NI-RFSG, NI-VISA etc.) are you using?  As much detail as you could give us, the better.  Let me know how the mass compile goes first though.  Thanks and have a great day!

Regards,

Lon A.
