Generate a ramp to drive a instrument at constant velocity

Hi,
I am driving a mechanical instrument which moves as per the voltage supplied. So, the distance moved is proportional to the voltage supplied.

Can somebody tell me how can i drive this stage at constant velocity?

Can i do it with ramps? if so how ?

Please Help!

Hello,

If the the displacement is proportional to the voltage, that means you have

x = a * V
so velocity which is dx/dt = a*dV/dt. If you want this to be constant, then you will need dV/dt to be constant meaning that you need to feed in a ramp.

Hope this helps..

Sir,
i got the logic, but i still dont understand how to connect and wat to connect those icons with.

As i know, with ramp u can giv the start voltage and end voltage and no. of steps.

But i how do i control the time scale?

Say if i want to give a ramp from V1 to V2 in t seconds!, how will/can i make sure that it happened in exactly t seconds ?

Expecting a reply
Thank you
